korean village adventure

Hello everyone! I'm sorry it has been sooo long... Weekends have been kind of relaxing and nice. Relaxing does not really equal fun and exciting picture taking opportunities. Here are some pictures from my weekend...

Jenn and I went on an adventure. Our main goal (well... my main goal) was to find a bark collar for my dear honey (AKA chewy)... Instead of planning our adventure I just went. We kind of got a little lost.. Insteading of finding to popular pet store street we found a chair street. We sat and took pictures... We looked like crazy people but we pretended they don't have chairs in America..lol..

So.... After our pet store adventure was complete (btw... we found the stores but no collars.. well they were super expensive...) we found this cool Traditional Korean villiage... This was a pretty tree in the villiage... It was very nice to see the beautiful flowers... Korea has been pretty brown since I arrived...

In the villiage they had a play area... These are some of the games all the children (and adults) were playing... My students were sooo happy and excitied to explain them to me in class today...

This is a super cool backpack... I didn't really get to put it on because it was broken... I promise I didn't break it... Some old Korean guy grabbed it from me and was speaking Korean... O well...

I found these kids in a park... Best behaved children i have ever met (in any country!)

me with Kimchi pots... These are everywhere but this is the first picture I've taken with them. They are huge!

My new apartment...

this is a toss game... yes I know my sister is going to comment about my hair... I wasn't expecting to find anything exciting or take pics on this adventure so my hair looked like ***...

This guy gave me some flowers... :) So nice!!! I was actually whining earlier that day because i never got flowers anymore...

wednesday

Hey everyone! My sister is begging for another blog so here i go.... Nothing very exciting to report... Last weekend I went to a birthday dinner, church and a baby shower so I was pretty lazy... I promise to do something exciting this weekend so I can post a good blog... I did see two movies last weekend/early this week... Slumdog millionaire and Bride wars finally came out in Korea... I liked both... Honey is doing great! He is potty trained now... Now i'm working on his barking problem... I don't think he understands that we live in an apartment and there are other people who walk in the hall... He wakes me up every morning... I'm thrilled... Work is ok.. I'm kind of dealing with a little drama right now... My boss wants us to make workbooks to replace the workbooks that we are using now... I understand what she is thinking but I have no time.. ummm.... I think that's it... exciting times... I promise I will do something exciting this weekend!

Honey Pictures

Another monday

hey... I just wanted to let everyone know that it is 52 degrees here today!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!! They are predicting that the weather will be nice all week! I think the high this week will be 55!! I can't wait for spring to be here and for this cold weather to disappear! Honey doesn't like the cold weather either! We go on walks every morning and every night but we have to make them short because we both get cold. Honey is doing great! He is a pretty good boy but he has a little barking problem. Every time I leave the house he cries and barks.... I guess he will grow out of that but it is very annoying.. It's Monday afternoon and I can't believe the weekend is already over. Tuesday is St Patricks day so everyone is going to the bar after work... I have no idea what I am doing this weekend but I was thinking about checking out the theater... Other than my new addition nothing is new... I hope everyone is having a great day! I miss you all sooo much! Love, Abby

Honey!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new addition to the Michelsen family! I adopted honey from an Korean Animal Rescue site. He is a very cute white Maltese dog. I think he's about two years old. He was abandoned in a school parking lot. He actually came from the city pound in Asan... I'm very happy a found him because they usually kill the animals after 5 days in the pound. He is healthy and very cute.. He has a great personality! Every time you try to pet him he rolls over.. it is very cute... I will be able to bring him home with no problems when I come home in November because California's animal laws are very minimal.. he just needs a record of updated shots... I went shopping with the girls today and I got him more treats, a bigger water bowl and a cute little blue and pink polo shirt... I have some great pics from his first play date so I will post those soon...
